Station Location

As a hub of activity located in the exact center of the state, Lewistown is easily accessible from all four corners of Montana. Travelers from all over the United States visit our area to take advantage of the wondrous wildlife and varied outdoor activities central Montana offers.

We are located 100 miles from Great Falls, 125 miles from Billings, 160 miles from Bozeman and less than 6hrs drive from every other part of the Montana. The Depot provides the ultimate convenience of meeting everyone in the middle.

History and Renovations

The grandeur of yesteryear comes alive as you step into The Depot. Originally built by the Chicago, Minneapolis & St. Paul railway in 1913, the stately brick building with terra cotta tile roof housed the passenger station, division offices and once popular lunch counter. The railway spared no expense in showcasing the importance of this depot and used top quality materials and finishes shipped from many eastern states.

In 2020 The Depot was transformed and is once more the pride and glory of Lewistown. The gorgeous original terrazzo tile marble floor has been restored and enhanced. The soaring eight-foot windows, removed over 60 years ago, are once again bathing the space in light. Gorgeous dark wood wainscoting has replaced the original tile wainscoting removed decades ago.  Grand chandeliers and sconces were shipped from Kansas, once used in their state capitol, and once more provides an illuminating glow. The famous wood beamed ceiling is the crowing affect. Outfitted with all new technology and HVAC systems, The Depot is once again positioned to take its place as The Place in Central Montana.

The Depot is exclusively serviced by Yogo Inn in-house catering and bar services. As a fully licensed entity to provide both on and off-site catering and full liquor bar amenities, we are capable of crafting one-of-a-kind events for our esteemed clients. Whether you choose our popular Prime Rib dinner or a delectable buffet, your guests will enjoy a delicious meal for your wedding, corporate event or other special occasion.

Should you choose to hold your event within 25 miles of Lewistown, we are honored to provide full catering and bar services at your selected venue.

Sleeper Rooms

The Yogo Inn is the perfect place to “let off steam.” When your event is ready to wind down, our accommodations offer the ultimate convenience for your guests. Our year-round indoor pool and spa, fitness room, laundry facility, on-site restaurant and lounge provide your guests with every comfort while away from home.

Group Rate – By holding your event at The Depot and Yogo Inn, you have the ability to offer your guests special pricing by securing a group rate. This special rate is offered to groups requiring 10 or more separate guest rooms per night.

What months is The Depot available for rent?

Year round! Our property is open 24/7 all year long and available for your every event need.

Can I have an event last more than one day?

Yes. We offer packages of one to three days and will accommodate longer events by request.

Does The Depot and Yogo Inn provide an event director?

Yes, The Depot will provide one of our staff to be your go-to person on the day of your event. This person will ensure your event runs smoothly. This person is not defined as a wedding and event planner or coordinator and will not direct any Preferred Provider or third party/outside supplier on event holder’s behalf.

What are we responsible for regarding set up and take down?

In order for our staff to set up your event, we need your final set up instructions not less than 72hrs prior to your event. Our staff will set up and take down all tables, chairs, standard linens and tableware per your instruction and if selected for use. You are responsible for only those items not provided by the venue and that you have brought in such as centerpieces, décor, gifts, and personal items. These items must be removed by the end of the evening unless prior arrangements have been made.

Can I bring my own food or private caterer to the venue?

No, all food must be provided by our in-house catering department due to regulations. The only exception is wedding or other specialty cakes.

Do you provide wedding and other specialty cakes?

No, you are welcome to arrange for a baker of your choice to provide those. We cannot accept delivery of any specialty cake or dessert more than 1 hour prior to your event.  If you choose to have our staff cut and serve your cake or dessert there is a $1 per person charge. This includes staff to cut and plate the cake, plates, and cutlery.

Can we bring our own alcohol?

No, we are a licensed full beverage provider and all alcohol consumed must be provided by the venue due to licensing requirements. We will work with you to provide a comprehensive selection of beverages that will fit your needs. You are also welcome to request specialty mixed drinks, wine, liquor and beer and we will do our best to procure your requests.

Are the event spaces wheelchair accessible?

Yes, all public areas from the parking lot to the lobby, public restrooms and all venue rooms are wheelchair accessible. We also offer handicap accessible and dog friendly guest rooms for those staying overnight or longer.

Is there a secure space to store personal items or gifts?

No, it is your responsibility to ensure your personal items and gifts are secured off the property, in your guest room, or in your vehicle by the end of your event. We are not responsible for items left in the event rooms before or after the event.

What type of tables do you offer?

You can choose from 5ft round tables or 8ft rectangular tables or a mix of both for your set up. We will work with you to create an ideal seating arrangement suitable for your needs and within our spaces.

Are there any restrictions for décor?

Yes. We do not allow confetti, glitter, rice or other exceptionally small objects on any surfaces or thrown in the air. Sparklers may be used outside and away from structures with advance written approval.  Candles may be considered if properly contained and approved in writing in advance. No nails, tacks, glue, or tape may be used on any surface or object on the property. Nothing can be placed on or attached to the light fixtures, draperies, windows or window treatments.

Can I have both my wedding and reception at The Depot?

Yes. If you wish to have two separate spaces for this purpose we can accommodate that. In order to host both functions in The Depot on the same day, you will either need to allow for a room layout that will accommodate both functions or allow us to reset the room for at least 3 hours in between functions.

We also have exterior spaces to be used for other functions or as overflow for your event. The Depot alley can be turned into a summer soiree for dancing and drinking, or even the ceremony. Our courtyard is a fully enclosed space adjacent to our restaurant and guest rooms that can also be used for event functions.

Is there a space for attendees or wedding party to get ready before the event?

Yes, a hotel guest room may be booked for that purpose. Our finest rooms on the property are located directly above The Depot and provide easy access to the venue.

Is event insurance required?

Yes. All event holders must provide proof of General Liability Insurance for bodily injury and property damage or have a special event insurance policy in an amount no less than $500,000 per occurrence. Yogo Inn requires a certificate of insurance listing Yogo Inn as an Additional Insured and provided no less than 30 days prior to your event. All outside vendors are required to provide Certificate of Liability Insurance to Yogo Inn no less than 7 days from the event unless the event holder has insurance specifically covering outside vendors for your event.

How long can my event last?

The type of event and the use of the guest rooms above the event room dictate when an event may end. If you wish to have your event end after 9pm, all guest rooms above the individual event room need to be booked by your event for your guest’s exclusive use. In the case of The Depot, there are eight Premier King Rooms located directly above. We require booking all eight rooms if you wish to have music and dancing past 9pm. All events must end by midnight with last call for drinks or last dance being 11:30pm. You will have until 1am the evening of your event to complete removal of all décor and personal property.

What are the rates to book an event at The Depot?

We have variable rates throughout the year based on demand. Please fill out our inquiry form with your preferred dates and we will reach out directly.

We also offer special discount rates for non-profits and community centered events periodically. Please inquire regarding those unique opportunities.
